Fanny Reynaud is a French cinematographer who studied at the ECAL (Switzerland), where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2020. She specialized in camera, cinematography, and lighting, training under renowned directors of photography like Agnès Godard (AFC) and Josée Deshaies. She began her career in cinema as a camera assistant, primarily on Swiss feature films.

Today, Fanny is fully dedicated to her work as a director of photography. She has continued to refine her craft by working in various countries, notably in Mexico, where she participated in numerous workshops all over 2023, led by acclaimed cinematographers such as Diana Garay (AMC) and Alfredo Altamirano (AMC). In Mexico, her talent quickly caught attention, leading to her being hired as the second unit director of photography on the new Amazon Prime series Cometierra – a major thriller-fantasy production (7x50 min, released in October 2025). Drawing on this rich experience, Fanny returned to Europe in early 2024 with a focus on collaborating on auteur cinema projects that resonate more deeply with her artistic vision.

For Fanny, a great director of photography must possess a strong capacity for adaptation, a deep sense of discipline, and a profound understanding of collaboration – qualities she strives to cultivate in both documentary and fiction work. Aesthetically, her style is influenced by figures such as Ingmar Bergman and his cinematographer Sven Nykvist, as well as Italian filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher and her director of photography Hélène Louvart (AFC), with whom Fanny had the pleasure and privilege of collaborating a few years ago on Viens je t’emmène by Alain Guiraudie. Her inspirations also include Michael Haneke and his director of photography Christian Berger.
